Volunteer Vacancies

There are many opportunities to be part of exciting ventures at White House Farm wildlife site.   We always welcome conservation volunteers, and we are currently seeking new volunteers for a range of interesting roles at the wildlife site.

VOLUNTEER MANAGER: We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual who enjoys a rewarding challenge!  This role includes promoting the volunteering opportunities at the wildlife site, corresponding with existing volunteers, working with a team of volunteers to organise fundraising stalls and small events, arranging an annual social event for volunteers.  Sharing updates with staff and keeping the volunteer team informed.

VOLUNTEER WILDLIFE SITE GUIDES: We are seeking enthusiastic individuals to engage with visitors and lead guided walks at the wildlife site.  Guide sheets are provided for volunteers to learn about the species and habitats at the wildlife site. We ask for a commitment to lead at least two guided walks each year.

EVENTS VOLUNTEERS: Manning fundraising stalls at local events while promoting the wildlife site and its activities.  Assisting with event preparations and helping at events at the wildlife site.  We ask for a commitment to help with at least two events in a year.

CONSERVATION VOLUNTEERS: We have occasional volunteer days which involve helping to clear nature trails or weed management in the meadows (as an organic site, we control some of the more invasive 'weeds' by hand or by topping).  Projects may also include maintaining nature trail items including signs, benches and sculptures. [We now have several new conservation volunteers and would welcome more so do get in touch!]

VOLUNTEER WILDLIFE RECORDERS: For surveys (butterflies, moths, dragonflies, bats, birds, flora, small mammals, terrestrial invertebrates, freshwater invertebrates, fungi and lichens)

LABYRINTH KEEPER: [We now have a volunteer for this role.]

We're very grateful to all volunteers for supporting the work at White House Farm.  Volunteers can receive discounts towards holidays at White House Farm wildlife site through our Credit Scheme and are entered in to an annual prize draw to win a holiday at Secret Meadows www.secretmeadows.co.uk
